Beckford Parish Council are currently assisting in the setting up of a Community Speed Watch (CSW) group with Police from Evesham Police Station.
In order for the group to be established, we firstly need to identify a minimum of six volunteers who will carry out the monitoring of vehicle speeds using roads initially within Beckford.
It’s our aim to role out the monitoring area to other parts of the parish in due course.
Volunteers will need to attend a half day’s training which will be carried out by the police’s road safety team.
Once trained then volunteers will be able to operate as a group to monitor vehicle’s speeds and pass this information onto the police who can send out notices to drivers exceeding the speed limit and request they abide by the speed limit in the future.
